You can import a list of customers to your Storable Easy software to easily create many customers at once instead of individually creating each one. Please note: The mass customer import only creates customer accounts; it does not create or rent units to customers.
Follow the instructions below to create a list of customers and upload your document.
1. Prepare your file for upload. The file must be formatted as a .csv.
You can import any or all of the following information. The fields noted as required must be included for each customer.
- Name - Required
- Address - Required
- City - Required
- State - Required
- Zipcode - Required
- Phone
- Cell Phone
- Drivers License Number
- Drivers License State
- Social Security Number
- Employer Name
- Employer Phone
- Emergency Contact
- Emergency Phone
- Referred By
The file should look like the following:

Remove all blank rows in the spreadsheet beneath your last customer in the list. Failure to do so may result in blank customers being added to your software.
2. In your Easy software, navigate to Customers > Import Customers.
3. Click Browse to select the file from your computer.
Then, click Import.
4. You’ll see a preview of the customer list before committing to the import.
An orange information icon will appear if there is an issue, such as duplicate data.
If you want to skip any customers, uncheck the box next to their names. If you need to correct data, click Edit next to the customer. Edit the data on the next screen, then click Save.
5. Click Import when you’re ready to move forward.
After import, you’ll see a summary that includes the date/time of import, the number of customers included, who performed the import, and the list of users from the file.
You’ll also see a history of previous imports at the top of the Import Customers page.
Customer Import FAQ
Can I rent multiple units to one customer?
Customers with multiple units only need one customer profile. All of their units should be billed on one profile to make it easier when a customer logs into their account to pay their bill online or manage their storage account. You would only want one customer to have multiple accounts if they would like to use separate payment methods for each account.
Is unit information imported?
Unit information is not included during the customer import. Please see Renting a Unit to a Customer for instructions.
What should I do if I don't have all the information for the spreadsheet?
We cannot mass edit accounts that have already been created during a customer import. If you are missing any desired information from the import spreadsheet, you should wait to upload or send the information to support so all information can be included. If you cannot wait, please understand that future edits on a customer profile will need to be made manually by a facility employee.
Can Easy Support import customers for me?
If you’re new to Storable Easy, Support can import your customers if you provide the information in an Excel, Google Sheet, Apple Numbers, or .CSV document. Email your document to easysupport@storable.com.
