Storable ID: How do I set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

This article is relevant to users whose organization has enabled Storable ID.

When you create your Storable ID, you must set up at least one Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) method for added security. The available authentication methods are determined by your Storable ID administrator, who may allow one or more of the following options:

  • Authenticator App (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy)
  • Okta Verify App
  • Email Authentication
  • Security Key or Biometric Authentication

When you get to the MFA setup step of creating your Storable ID, follow the instructions below to set up your preferred MFA method:

Authenticator App

Email

Authenticator App 

1. Click Setup under Okta Verify or Authenticator Application.

2. Select iPhone or Android.

3. Download the authentication app from the Google Play or iOS App Store if you don’t already have it. Please ensure you are downloading the official app.


4. Click Next in the Storable ID portal once you have the app installed.

5. Open the authenticator app on your mobile phone. 

6. Tap the + button to add a new account.

7. Tap Scan a QR code

8. Scan the QR code displayed on your computer. 

9. A six-digit code will display on your authenticator app. 

10. Click Next in the Storable ID portal.

11. Enter the six-digit code on the next screen and click Verify to complete the setup.

12. You can select additional methods for Multi-Factor Authentication or click Finish.

Email

1. Select Setup beneath Email Authentication. email.png

4. You can select additional methods for Multi-Factor Authentication or click Finish.
