Usually, when the gate is stuck open it is a safety device connected to the physical gate or edge limit that is not allowing it to close.
There are a few things we can check to verify that it isn't the yellow Cloud controller.
First, we can disconnect the connector with the wires going to the gate from the cloud node C and NO.
If you grab the gray plastic piece of the connector you can wiggle/pull it and it will slide straight off.
What this does is bypass our system completely so that the relay on the controller can't close the contact of the two wires. (This is what sends the open signal to the gate. *Relay Closed*)
Give it a minute or so and if the gate still doesn't close then that means there is either a short somewhere in that set of dry contact wires going to the gate operator or something physically wrong with the gate.
You can unplug the two wires at the operator and if it closes at that point then you would know it's a short in the two wires.
If it's still stuck open you can check on the board of the gate operator and see if there is a diagnostic error screen.
A lot of gate operators have some sort of error screen or LED that usually points you in the right direction of the problem. (Photo beam, edge limits, safety loop, etc)
