Comparing Revenues vs Future Revenues:

Revenues shows all payments made in current month including past due payments but not including invoices that were invoiced and NOT paid.

Future revenues only shows invoices for the month so it wouldn't take into effect any past due amounts paid or if people became past due.

The ONLY time you would ever compare these reports would be if you have everyone current and the next month everyone paid you on time. So not really a good comparison.
