A Unit Type is a size category. For instance, you may offer four Unit Types: 5x10, 10x10, 10x20, and 10x25. You may own twenty 5x10 units, numbered 1-20. In this example, unit 4 would be a 5x10 Unit Type.
Create a Unit Type
1. Log in to your Easy Storage Solutions account
2. Hover over the Units tab and select Unit Types.
3. To create a new Unit Type, click the New Unit Type button in the top right corner.
To edit an existing Unit Type, click edit next to the Unit Type.
5. Fill in the Unit Type dimensions, price, and additional information.
Name
The name field is optional. What you enter here will appear on your website next to the unit size. For instance, in this example, Large RV was typed in the name field of the unit type.
Unit Type Photo
If you don't upload an image, a default (blue door) picture will show up underneath your unit name/size on the website. You can select a different stock photo from the Unit Type Photos dropdown menu or to upload a custom photo from your computer if you'd like.
Price
Enter the Unit Type price and any additional fees and taxes. Any pricing plans you create will be displayed on your website and will be applied when someone books through your website. If you rent to a walk in customer you can customize the pricing options.
The Additional Deposit field can be enabled under Setup > Settings > Enable additional deposits.
California and Minnesota facilities only: If fees have been set up for a Unit Type, they will be displayed on your website when a customers clicks +Applicable Fees under a unit price. If no fees are added in your software for a Unit Type, the +Applicable Fees link will not be shown on your website.
6. Click Create or Update Unit Type.
7. If you create Unit Types after your initial setup of the software, those unit types will need to be enabled so that they appear on your website's Rent Storage page.
Enable the new/additional Unit Types by going to Website > Pages > click edit on the Rent Storage page > click edit on the Available Unit Types widget > make sure you check the box in the rent column for the new Unit Type(s) and Update.
